How to Navigate the Ranked System in Valorant
Welcome to the new Valorant guide in this article I’m going to explain how the Valorant competitive or ranked system works and let’s get right into it. Valorant ranked just came out and so many people have questions about the system so let’s answer them.
How to even get a ranked or competitive game mode?
You will have to complete twenty unrated matches to unlock competitive mode there are currently eight ranks with three tiers each except the top rank of Valorant and the Ranks are:
- Iron
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Immortal
- And the last rank is called Valorant
And I honestly want the last Rank name changed because it sounds pretty dumb. I will see what Riot does in the future. After you complete five competitive matches you will get yourself a rank according to how well you played in those games. Your performance will have a great impact on the early evaluation of your skill but will decrease in importance when compared to wins so what that means is that you’ll have to try harder first five games and have the highest kill death ratio to plays good.
It doesn’t matter if you just win those five games you can still place pretty low around Iron or bronze. “For those are Valorant a rank level winning and how the size of games are won or lost will be the only factor we measure,” Riot says which is pretty good you can play ranked up to five people and if you want to play five men stack you’ll have to be within two ranks or 6 tiers from each other.
Meaning that if you’re platinum you can only play up to an immortal rank and down to silver rank which is good since it prevents people smurfing that cannot reach those range themselves. Also if you queue up with pre mates according to Riot games you will have pre-meds in the enemy team as well. I tested this today and didn’t seem like it’s true so I don’t believe it we played as a duo and the enemy confirmed that they were a five-man team pretty weird.
Rank inactivity will also be tracked if you haven’t played a competitive match in 14 days and your account will be considered inactive and your rank will be hidden. Nicely your rank won’t slowly fade away if you don’t play it will just be hidden until you play another match after 14 days period. Keep in mind this game is in beta and there will probably be a lot of different changes so do not stress if you don’t place well.
If you are stuck on one rank or are unable to get to a higher rank you could try Valorant boosting services provided by many professional players to get your rank to the top. By purchasing a Valorant boosting service you can save a lot of time trying to get a high rank instead you can utilize that time to learn the special trick to become a good player.
If you purchase a Valorant boosting service you can also communicate with the player who will be boosting your Valorant account rank. This gives you the benefit to learn some tricks to get good at the game. You can also watch their gameplay to learn new tactics.
Reason Why Valorant Ranked is Bad
There are some flaws in the Valorant ranked system which I am going to mention here:
1. 5 stacks can queue with a solo or duo queue rather than another 5 stack
What I mean by this is that you could solo queue into a match and be faced up with a team that is 5 stacking already given you a disadvantage where they could be diamond 1 your platinum 3. Where you get three gold and platinum facing all diamonds and like I said this leans more towards five stacking rather than having a separate solo/duo queue for the ranking system.
2. Ranking depends on Teamplay
If you are top frag out of everybody in the whole game being matches MVP going for example thirty and ten and you lose horribly because your team doesn’t hold its weight and your solo queuing you get punished for that and you will not rank up. Your rating might stay the same but this isn’t your fault and isn’t something in your control where you can help your teammates to be better they might be having a bad game but that’s punishing you making you not being able to rank up into higher lobbies.
When you can five stacks with the team get bottom frag and win the game and rank up where the rating system knows that your solo queuing doing very well in the match but losing the match because you know your random teammates aren’t doing well compared to someone that is a very bad player getting carried by their other four players by being in a 5 stack and I know Riot has claimed that they take being carried into consideration but the ranking systems says otherwise as I had a very bad game and was being carried but still ranked up because we won.
3. Assist doesn’t matter
Assists don’t matter as they have a very small percentage into your rating on how high you get as people can join your kills and get a better combat score even if they hit them for one shot and you did most of the damage as you only get damage points, not a full kill point. So someone that shoots them for one-shot will get 150 points based on what kills they get in the round.
So in the end you want to get more kills than assists and a biblically no part into your average combat score as this should be readjusted a bit abilities and using your abilities correctly should be put into your combat score somehow for example if someone were to be playing breed and they were to stun two players and your two randoms get the kill but you got those two players to splash you get no combat score for that or someone that is playing sage and they slow a person down or two or your randoms get the kill that plays no part in what your combat score will be and infecting how your rank is going to be played at the end of the match.
